Tough Housing...a Common Tactic by Squirrels is Jumping & Hitting a feeder hard knocking seed out of the feeder ports: When an animal jumps at, or disturbs a rollerfeeder, the rotating outer housing absorbs the impact & disruption by spinning freely around the seed hopper. The seed stays intact in a stainless & galvanized steel seed hopper isolated from the event. The seed hopper trays are also tightly designed making it difficult for an animal to shake or knock seed out. No direct hits to the seed container itself greatly reduces birdseed spilling to the ground & flying all over. | |

| 3. Rainproof Design means Fresh
& Dry Seed: Damp seed turns into moldy seed rapidly or becomes
soggy. When it's raining & windy, it would take
a strong storm
or more for any rain to ever enter the RF seed hopper. The rain-roof also functions as a weather shelter keeping birds dry while feeding - without an extra rain
dome or cover typically costing between $10-$35. The RF seed-hopper &
outer-housing combination prevents damp seed and what's known as "seed-port clogging" from rain &
strong side-ward wind, no extras required.
3a. Maximum Air Circulation: Side-to-side air flow virtually eliminates condensation build-up that can occur in a tight container. The air flows side-to-side through, in & around the housing, and thru mesh sides in the seed hopper keeping your highest quality seed dry. Simple Filling & Built-In Seed Catcher: No caps, covers, hinges, or other moving parts for an animal to figure out or remove/unlock before filling - just rotate housing and pour seed through the housing opening and into the seed hopper. The bottom of the feeder functions as a built-in seed-catcher minimizing seed falling to ground - centrifugal force helps keep in the spent seed shells when it spins. Each time you fill, rotate housing and empty seed shells into a container to discard. Seed catchers or seed trays are most often added costs ranging from $5 - $10.
